About This Project

Office refurbishment – Shoreline Housing Partnership

Shoreline Housing Partnership contracted Ken Rand Partners for a complete office refurbishment. They were looking to design and install a new reception and refurbish the offices for their office in Grimsby. Based on photographs sent to us by the company we drafted a concept of the new lay out. The office refurbishment’s main feature is a large continuous curved desk worktop that functions as reception desk in one part and turns into four private meeting areas divided by curvy laminate panels. Part of the reception desk has a lowered work top, making the desk easily accessible for wheelchair users. As a separation between the reception desk and the meeting areas we designed a glass panel with the logo of the company engraved in it. In the design lay out we also incorporated seating for the waiting area and low, floor mounted storage units with hinged doors. To finish the office refurbishment we installed an information point with several folder display units and a high table where customers can browse the available folders while waiting or when they just walk in to collect some information. When the furniture was delivered at the office in Grimsby, the quality of the products was below the standard Ken Rand Partners expects from their contracted joineries. To deal with this inconvenience, we contracted a different joinery, explained the situation, and had the low quality furniture replaced with a new set that did meet the quality standard. The new furniture was delivered on short notice to limit the delay of the project, leaving the clients satisfied with the final result. At Ken Rand Partners we always strive to deliver all our furniture in the highest quality, and should something be wrong we will work hard to repair or replace the damaged items.
